Lisa Carpenter

Lisa served in the United States Navy as a Hospital Corpsmen and completed her tour of duty just prior to the initiation of Operation Desert Storm.  She completed basic training at Naval Training Center in Orlando, Florida and attended A school training at the Great Lakes Naval Training Center in Great Lakes, Illinois.  She was stationed at Cherry Point Marine Corps Air Station and assigned to the Naval Hospital where she performed an array of clinical and medical administrative duties that included assisting in the prevention and treatment of disease, injury and assisted health care professionals in providing medical care to Navy personnel and their families. She has over 15+ years of professional human resources management and leadership expertise. Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Management & Leadership from Bluefield College. Her management experience spans from various industries including government, manufacturing, community services and healthcare in multifaceted roles such as Director of Human Resources, Director of Performance Improvement and Director of Business Operations. She has spoken at local community teams and colleges on topics of HR concepts, leadership development and healthcare administration. She was nominated by the Virginia Department of Medical Assistance Services to serve a member to the provider advocacy group responsible for providing input to the regulatory guidelines for psychiatric residential treatment facilities. She is a strong supporter and advocate for the Wounded Warrior Project as a U.S.N. veteran herself.
